About Us

Goalseye is a gamified college preparatory program designed to help craft your student’s extracurricular narrative, boosting their chances of admission to a highly competitive university.

We believe every student has a unique story to tell, but we understand that the college prep journey can feel stressful and overwhelming. That’s why we’re changing the game by making it manageable and fun for students. By incorporating video game-like features such as points, rewards, and opportunities to earn real-world rewards, we use positive reinforcement to help students develop lasting habits and turn their passions into compelling college applications.

Goalseye was designed and developed by a team of experienced software and game developers who have successfully navigated the highly selective college admissions process themselves. This unique blend of expertise ensures the app is both engaging and effective, providing a well-rounded approach to help students succeed in the competitive college admissions landscape.

Built by a parent, but designed by a kid.

Goalseye is built by the mother-son team of Janine Yorio and Andrew Yorio.

“There are so many brilliant kids out there being pushed into a draining college prep grind. When we realized how much stress the college admissions journey causes, we decided to do something about it—together.

We created Goalseye because we wanted the high school years to be a joyful time for our family, not one filled with constant nagging and arguments. We didn’t want to jeopardize Andrew’s chances of getting into a top college, but we also didn’t want to miss the chance to enjoy these years together. Instead, we decided to build something that helps kids explore their unique passions, to craft a compelling narrative that differentiates them from the thousands of other nearly-identical applicants that admissions officers must sift through. And, we decided to make it fun.”

Janine Yorio, is a Yale University graduate and the CEO and co-founder of Everyrealm, a gaming technology company backed by investors Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed, and Will Smith.

With over 20 years of experience as a Yale Alumni Schools Committee member, Janine has conducted countless interviews for prospective students, giving her firsthand insight into what sets applicants apart. But as a parent to Andrew, a middle schooler preparing for his own college journey, Janine also knows the unique challenges families face.

Andrew Yorio is in the eighth grade and thinks he knows everything.
